Donor FAQ
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes. Smile Welfare Canada is a registered Canadian charity (No. 77513 6229 RR0001). Official donation receipts are issued for eligible gifts. Online donations receive an emailed receipt; e-Transfer and cheque donors receive a receipt once the gift is processed. Monthly donors receive one annual receipt.
How is my donation used?
Your gift supports our poverty relief programs: food assistance, clothing and winter essentials, shelter support, household essentials and emergency relief. We keep complete records and report annually to the CRA.
Can I give in honour or memory of someone?
Yes. Add a note with your donation or email us and we can send an acknowledgement card.
How do I change or cancel a monthly gift?
Email donate@smilewelfare.com and we will update your gift right away.
Is online giving secure?
Online gifts are processed by a secure, PCI-compliant donation platform. We never see or store your card details.
